Born November 18, 1946 in Sidney, Nebraska, Michael spent the next 17 years growing up in the Cornhusker State. Known for being a good engineering college, the University of Wyoming is where he applied, was accepted and ultimately received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and 2 graduate degrees - a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering, and a Juris Doctor of Law.

Mike also served for 2 years as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army (1969 - 1971,) later achieving the rank of Captain in the Wyoming Army Reserves (1976 - 1977). He served in Vietnam from 1970 - 1971, and was awarded several medals including the Bronze Star for "Meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces."

He and his wife, Ann, have been married for 25 years, and have 4 children between them. Daughter Brittany received her Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Architecture, from the University of Colorado in 2006. She works for a firm that buys, redesigns and resells hotels throughout the United States. One stepson lives in Manchester, New Hampshire with his family, and works in New York as a commodities broker. Another stepson works as a welder and lives with his family in Lander, Wyoming. And his stepdaughter works for a law-firm in Longmont, Colorado where she lives with her two daughters.

Michael enjoys water-skiing, snow skiing, gym-fitness training, travel, photography and entertaining.


Janet Lara

Graduated from Casper College in 1992 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science/Paralegal. She obtained her Certified Legal Assistant designation in 1993. She has over 14 years experience as a Legal Assistant in Wyoming. Her work experience has focused on Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, Civil Litigation, and general legal work.




Farrah Borchardt

Farrah is a Casper native who graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She worked for Michael Zwickl Law Office in 2003-2004 until moving to Houston, Texas. She has nine years of experience as a paralegal, including work in Texas for a plaintiffs' products liability and personal injury firm, a domestic firm and an accident reconstruction/expert witness engineering firm. She and her family returned to Wyoming and she resumed working as a paralegal for Michael Zwickl in September of 2008. Her work experience has focused on Personal Injury, Family Law, Criminal Defense and general legal work.
